I spend my money where I feel welcome- DIVERSITY in MARKETING is important- @beachesresorts & @sandalsresorts do ya'll really AGREE?

I believe in DIVERSITY in MARKETING and a lot of my buying decisions are based solely on if you have PEOPLE that look like my family in your marketing; commercials, print ads-- etc.  Now you may not agree with that-- and you don't have to, you may not even notice who is in a commercial or what a print ad looks like when you purchase something-- and that is fine, but to ME it is important and if I am going to spend my money-- I can!  So while looking into Turks & Caicos click here-- click the arrows and tell me who you see? 

So while planning vacations-- we always check the advertising of the hotel, location etc-- to be sure that they are WELCOMING people that look like me and my family!! So over the years I have been watching the BEACHES & SANDALS websites, print ads and commercials-- and they haven't changed at all-- this is what I see.  What I see is the people that look like my family all WORK at the resort.  What it says to ME: You don't really want people that look like my family to come and visit-- just to work there.  Now that may not be what you are saying, but PERCEPTION is everything and that is what I see & feel!  I sent a similar letter in 2011 and the response is below--

I thought I would send a letter to them to ask-- and read below:

I will also tweet and blog about this-- As we were hoping that your advertising had changed and planning a family vacay to Turks & Caicos-- we see it hasn't changed at all. I was interested in coming to your resort for a FAMILY vacay and looked at your advertising on your website-- the front page has about 10 different places on the resorts-- no one person of COLOR-- it concerns me that you only have people of color WORKING at your resort-- Just WOW in the year 2013!!

Who said I was African-American??? Color can be Asian, Indian, Hispanic, Bi-racial-- but they assumed I was and said...
